Sutra is a Delhi-based think tank and convening platform dedicated to bringing together leaders across policy, business, and emerging technology. We design high-value round tables, closed-door dialogues, and curated network events that move conversations into action.

The Name
Why Sutra
The word sutra — from Sanskrit — means thread. In classical tradition, a sutra is a concise teaching that connects deeper truths. We chose this name intentionally.
We believe the most important work happens in the connections between people, between ideas, between sectors that rarely speak to each other. Policy without industry input is incomplete. Innovation without governance guardrails is reckless. Business without public purpose is short-sighted.
Sutra builds the threads between these worlds — creating dialogue that doesn't just inform, but transforms how leaders think about the challenges ahead.
Founder
Arvind Gupta
Arvind Gupta is the founder of Sutra and a veteran of India's digital public infrastructure landscape. As a founding member and former Independent Director of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), he was instrumental in shaping one of India's most ambitious digital infrastructure projects.
With a career spanning policy advisory, technology leadership, and institutional design, Arvind brings a rare ability to convene conversations that bridge the gap between government thinking and industry execution. His work is grounded in a deep belief that India's next phase of growth depends on the quality of conversation between its most consequential decision-makers.
Through Sutra, Arvind is building a platform that reflects his conviction: that the right conversation, in the right room, between the right people, can change the trajectory of policy and industry alike.
